Lothar Mentel

Lothar Mentel

Chief Executive Officer

Lothar founded Tatton in 2012, having grown award-winning multi-manager funds worth £1.6 billionas Chief Investment Officer at Octopus Investments. 

In an investment management career spanning three decades, Lothar desgined and launched the Barclays Multi-Manager fund range and held senior roles at NM Rothschild, Threadneedle and Commerzbank Asset Management. 

Educated in Germany, Lothar holds a postgraduate degree in Business and Economics (Diplom Oekonom) from Rhur-Universitaet Bochum and is a regular contributor to international conferences, publications and symposia. 

Helen O'Neill

Helen O’Neill

Chief Operating Officer

Leading our continuous product development, Helen also manages our investment governance and relationships with the IFA community.

Joining us from AXA Wealth – where she developed their WRAP proposition and investment strategy – Helen has extensive experience in delivering high-quality platform products for retail and high net worth clients. 

Helen started her career at Barclays Bank. There, she developed her skills in investments and product distribution before delivering private banking solutions at Coutts. Helen holds a degree in History from the University of Wales.

Jim Kean

Head of Investment

Jim brings more than 30 years’ investment experience to Tatton, managing our investment team and directing our strategy and global market research. 

Jim has held a number of senior investment positions including Head of Debt & Investment Research at Barclays Wealth, where he was responsible for £7 billion of assets. He became an investment manager after 12 years as a bond trader and salesman at investment banks including Salomon Brothers and Nomura.

Jim holds a degree in Mathematics from the University of Leeds.

Justine Randall

 Justine is a chartered financial planner with nearly 20 years financial services experience.

Justine joined Tatton from Retirement Advantage where she spent 8 years as Head of Sales and Strategic Partnerships. Justine was previously head of Openwork Market Solutions and begun her career as an adviser, building a rounded career shaped by both manufacturing and distribution roles.

Justine has a degree in Radiography from the Royal Military College of Science and a second degree in Financial Services Management attained through consistent career based study.

Alex Antonius

Chief Investment Consultant

Drawing on three decades of financial services experience, Alex communicates our investment philosophy to the Financial Adviser community, advising our clients on how to best benefit from our platform-focused investment strategies. 

Alex previously held senior management positions at Friends Provident, Foreign & Colonial Asset Management, Octopus Investments and Nationwide Financial Services. 

Educated in Holland, Germany and England, Alex holds an LLB (Hons), a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics, a BA (Hons) in German and the Diploma in Financial Planning (DipPFS).

Paul Muir CFA

Head of Fund Research

Paul is responsible for the selection of third-party funds using quantitative and qualitative analysis. He also works closely with fund managers to understand their processes, positioning and outlook on behalf of our clients.

With over ten years’ investment experience, Paul was previously Fund Research Analyst at C Hoare & Co. A CFA charterholder, Paul holds a BSc in Biology from the University of Nottingham.

James Saunders CFA

James Saunders CFA

Quantitative Research Analyst

James focuses his analysis on fund selection, performance attribution and building asset allocation processes.

James previously acted as Portfolio Manager at Sandaire, Investment Analyst at Lord North Street Limited and Trader at Tibra Capital. A CFA charterholder, James holds an MSc in Economics from the University of Warwick and an MSc in Quantitative Finance & Risk Management from Newcastle University.

Charlie Hamilton

Charlie Hamilton

Investment Analyst

Charlie handles a broad range of responsibilities, including fund selection, asset allocation and implementing rebalances.

Pivotal in the development of our Ethical Portfolios. Charlie joined us from the University of Bristol, where he graduated with a BA (Hons) in Spanish and Portuguese. He previously spent time working with Makor Securities and Ernst & Young in the UK, Portugal and Chile.
Charlie holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC). 

Emma Dixon

Emma Dixon

Investment Manager

With over 20 years' experience in investment administration and private client portfolio management, Emma brings a wealth of trade execution experience to the team.

Her career took her from Hambros Bank in the early 90’s, to Datastream, CCLA and Henderson Investors, before she became a portfolio manager after joining Barclays Private Bank in 1998. She holds various professional qualifications in investment management as well as project management.

Chris Swanepoel

Chris Swanepoel CFA

Head of AIM Investments

Chris has over twenty years of investment experience as a portfolio manager with JP Morgan Asset Management, Barclays and CIT. He has previously managed the J.P. Morgan UK Smaller Cap Institutional Fund and Barclays AIM Portfolio Service. Corporate finance expertise at CIT provides further depth of knowledge enabling a unique outlook on businesses, globally and emerging.

Chris is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Society of the UK.

Mark Murray

Mark Murray

Portfolio Manager/Analyst (AIM)

Mark joined Tatton as a Portfolio Manager/Analyst. Before this he graduated from the London School of Economics and worked in Parliament as a Research Assistant.

Mark holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and has passed Level II of the CFA Program.
